I was hired by Simerra property management in early July 2016. I was told I would be the administrative assistant for their Houston location and start August 16, 2016. They said they were based out of Toronto and would be opening a new location in the downtown Houston area. I looked them up online and although there wasn't a lot of information about the company, there was enough for me to believe it was real. I have more than 20 corresponding emails between the Hiring manager and I. They sent a check that I was told to deposit so I could coordinate hotel situations for their executives when they came into Houston, TX. They ale said they were sending a laptop with their software loaded onto in within the same week. However the laptop was never sent. When I went to the bank I was told the check was fraudulent, and surrendered them to BBVA Compass bank. When I called and inquired wight the number and email I was given by the company the email and number had both been deleted.
