My name is ********* ****** and I own a small house cleaning service in San Jose California called ***** ******** ********. Edwin Campbell (that is the name the scammer used) contacted me through text requesting my services as an independent contractor claiming to be the regional manager of Silicon Valley Cleaners he sent me the website for his business and I made at account on launch27.com were I was able to see my assignments. In a period of a 10 days I cleaned three properties for him he gave me the specifics and the payout. After I finished with the the last property and I told him to please deposit the $800 that he owed me and he disappeared.One of the houses was listed for sale so I went back to it and contacted the real estate agent who told me she has been working with him for the past year she also contacted him to request my payment but nothing. It's been three weeks and I haven't heard from him. He uses two different phone numbers with San Jose area code (408) 460-8645 and (408) 495-3002. He has a suspicious LinkedIn profile and on his website they have a phone number that is always sending you to voicemail. I'm afraid he's doing this to all small business owners like me and he gets paid for the services and the independent contractor does not.
