I was contacted via email by a man named Jacob Grant that my resume had been chosen for a remote/work from home position. I was instructed to download the Wire app to conduct my interview. I was easily hired and told that I would be sent an Apple laptop and a check to pay for the software, $200 of which would remain with me as a sign-on bonus. FedEx delivered a priority overnight envelope with a return address of Tempe, AZ. The check was from the account of MARC WOODWORKING, INC in Indianapolis, IN and drawn on the SunTrust bank. I decided to call the bank with my concerns and to verify that the check wasn't fraudulent. The representative alerted me that it was a fraud and to not cash or deposit the check. When I told Mr Grant this, he became annoyed, at one point calling me via Wire with a very heavy accent.
