I owed money for an old credit card that I fell behind on. Shermeta was handling the law suit. They sued me and won getting the default judgment even though I was out of the country and was not served. Once I got back to the States I contacted them and made and agreement to settle in full for less than the amount owed. They assured me the account would be closed and it was a one time payment, and the account would be at zero. The law suit is settled however the account at capital one still has a balance, and they did not forgive the small part of the debt that was supposed to be forgiven, and instead are leaving my account open with the remaining balance as still owed. The shermeta law group then told me when I called they have nothing to do with that and their lawsuit is closed and they cannot force capital one to do the right thing even though before they got my money they assured me that this account would be at a zero balance and closed. They lied to me, please don't ever settle with these [censored], they will be after the remaining balance soon enough I am sure. They will not forgive the remaining balance, they will lie to you too.
