Scammer contacted me on Facebook Marketplace to buy a big ticket item. He insisted on using Zelle. I registered with Zelle through my bank and gave out my email to initiate the transfer. Then i get a fake email stating that the transfer is on hold because i have a personal account and not a business account AND the buyer will have to send an additional $300 to upgrade in order to upgrade my account to a business account. In turn, he wanted me to promise that i'm sending him the $300 back. The entire time, he had me checking for any transfers and tried to call me several times. Thankfully one of my coworkers heard me talking about it and made me aware that this was the latest scam on FB Marketplace... No harm done, but the emails he sent were sophisticated and i can see how people could easily get tricked if they don't pay attention.

Again, the scammers name on Facebook is TIM PAWLACK and you can tell he's using a fake email <[email protected]>.</[email protected]>
