On Friday, February 3rd, 2017 at approximately 2:31 PM my wife received a telephone call on her cell phone from mobile phone number 414-751-6466. The male caller was very friendly and did not have a noticeable accent. He stated "Hello, this Josh from the service department, can you hear me?" My wife immediately hung up her phone having recalled a published warning regarding a scam of this nature published on January 27, 2017. Per an internet search I conducted this 414-751-6466 is reportedly a mobile phone listed in Milwaukee County Wisconsin and serviced by Nextel Communications.

Immediately asks "can you hear me" awaiting a "yes." I didn't say yes, I asked why they were calling. The response was, "great" then went on to say I'd been preselected. At that point I hung up. I assume it was a recording due to the fact I didn't respond the way they asked and they still said great. I called the number back. It said the survey was over but to press "9" to be removed from the call list. I didn't, but just hung up.

Phone solicitation to get answering party to say "Yes" to the question "Can you hear me" for later use in fraudulent purchases by phone. I was made aware of this scam by a report on KMOV TV St. Louis on Saturday January 28.
