Was text to get $150,000 non payback for a senior grant..text needed $1500 to have loan sent. The man was under W F S And his phone number was 530-XXX-XXXX was pushing for the $1500, i checked with the BBB, said to block him

A “friend” sent me the information to get a grant on Facebook. I was skeptical at fist but then started to see lots of posts from people who said they got the grant, and other people started to private message me telling me they received it. When I called the phone number I spoke to agent Marie Williams, she approved me immediately for $50.000.00. It was supposedly a special grant from the government for seniors. I was told not to tell anyone about it, for security reasons, until I received the money. I was told to pay $1000 for fees and taxes to get the money. When I explained to the “agent” that I am on a fixed income and do not have that much money, she seemed very sympathetic and pretended to want to help me. I have been very isolated because of covid and she took the time to talk to me and spent almost an hour on the phone with me. She even called me back later that day to check in on me. She was asking me about my family. I told her about my grandkids, and how my oldest one is about to go to college. We started talking about how helpful the money would be to get caught up on some house repairs and for me to give some to my grandkids. She told me that if I pay $500 now, they could take the rest out of the money I would get. I was instructed to go to 2 different Walgreen’s stores and get a $250 prepaid gift card at each, then call her back. I did and she had me read the numbers on the cards to her. She told me that I would receive the money in a few days. A couple of days went buy and I did not receive the money like she stated. I called the number back and it was disconnected. I reached out to the friend that had told me about it on Facebook and she said that was not her, that she had been hacked and had not received a grant. I talked to my pastor and he told me this was a popular scam that he had heard about and that it targeted low-income seniors like me. I do not understand how anyone could ever do this. I am devastated. I am upset about the money, but am also crushed that someone would treat another human being like this, especially a senior.
