Received a text message from an unknown number, in a thread with three other unknown numbers. Message seemed like a scam, so I googled it.

I got a text saying the power ball winner selected me for a free 50k with link to click

I listed my car on Craigslist. I received an email from an individual who wanted my personal (not Craigslist email) email address so she could send her "brother" my info. The "brother" emails me saying he is interested in the car. He asks me if it has any problems, I respond and list some things I have had fixed. He replies back saying he wants to come and look at the car and pay the full price with cash, but first he needs to send a vehicle history report to his loan officer and provides a link for me to do so. At first glance the link looks legit: www.historycarfax.com. Then I realized that it is not the actual Carfax.com website, but a similar vehicle history report website. It seemed a little fishy, so I started doing some research on vehicle history report scams and found that the email I received was very similar to other scams out there. I even checked the National Motor Vehicle Title History System's website to see if history carfax.com was a legitimate website, and its not. I replied to the guy telling him that I think he is a scammer and told him that I reported his info the BBB. Looks like they try and get you to pay for a vehicle history report on their "website" and then either steal your money or personal info or both. Hope this helps.

Everyone please beware of this scamming handyman! I hired him to do tiling upstairs and he does not even know what he is doing. On top of everything he will take your money and never show up to do the work. Lost 800 dollars, so i decided its a lesson learn, but you guys can all be aware!

The guy name is scott and his phone number is +19099914559.

Fyi the little tile he completed already started cracking and i had to hire someone else to demo and redo everything. Picture of him is here.

BEWARE!!!!

I am a breeder that advertised on hoobly.com to sell my puppies. I was contacted via a text. Sounded ok at first. Last text was wanting address to send money order to and where a representative could pick up the puppy.
