A call from of Scott-Owens & Coner back in December of 2020. For a debt from back in 2009, I agreed to make $50.00 dollar payments a month and signed an E-contract online. Due to fraudulent action, my current bank card was canceled by my bank. Trying to keep with the contract I tried to contact Scott-Owens& Corners, via the contact number given to my bank as a contact number with the transactions. That number belonged to a car dealership in Savana Georgia, not the so-called law firm. The woman at the dealership told me that they have been getting calls from people asking why they have been making money from their accounts and that it was a scam. My bank is even now trying to recoup the $100 that was paid to them. I informed Ms. Marsh that would get a lawyer as I am in Procurement and every company must provide a legitimate number that belongs to the vendor when doing monetary transactions. The woman Ms. Marsh stated that the number on my bank statement belonged to a vendor/ contractor how was she supposed to know that they had changed their number? (Serious red flag here). I told her that I wanted to make sure that they were legitimate and not a fraudulent company and until then they would not be getting any more money from me. She actually started arguing with me as to why I did not contact them via the number on the contractual agreement (both numbers should be the same or at least lead to the Scott-Own & Coner). I thought it was kind of fishy when was told to only call back to the number that was on the contract agreement.
I told her that I will need to contact my attorney. That's when she proceeded to tell me that they will sue me for the old debt and breach of contract for non -payment. I will be turning all of the information that I have over to the Attorney General Offices and Consumer Affairs Offices. Pay attention to your bank statement!

I got a call from this number back in December 15 2020. It was a female and she said her name was Amy Marsh and she worked for Scott Owens and Coners. She said I had a debt of 1,450 from a old Victoria Secret credit card. This was over 10 years ago. She said that I was going to be sued and that I needed to setup a payment today and another. So I paid her $25 that same day. I gave her my card info and setup a automatic transactions for January 31st. The number she called from is 183013927. And on January 30 I tried calling the office...I tried looking up a website. There was one website which was very skerchy. It had a number to call. 8883480953 and I tried calling it multiple times. I never got through. So I canceled that automatic transaction. And today February 1, 2021. I got a call from a male and he said I was going to be sued and was so rude and unprofessional. He said we will see you in court and hung up on me. These people made me cry and I have lost sleep and I am a wreck honesty. I dnt know if they are a real organization or if it is a scam.

A man named "Micheal Lawson" contacted my mother first claiming that he was with a law firm (Scott-Owen & Coners), and that he was looking for me to serve me with a summons because I was being sued for fraud. Left his contact info so that I could contact him, which I did. He claimed that I had a debt that I owed from US Bank that was well over 15 years old. He had some of my information, made me feel as if he may have been legit. He was very aggressive claiming that if I didn't pay them something today 01/08/2021 that the sheriff would be at my job the following day to serve me a summons. That they'd take me to court and my $1,200 debt would incur court cost, lawyer fees, and I'd owe over $2,700 by the time it was all said and done. I was so caught off guard that I did end up giving him my card information and agreed to give him $200.
He tried to process the payment but used the wrong cvv, even though I gave him the correct one. He also told me he'd send me a document via email to sign authorizing the transaction. I never did authorize it. I moved my money canceled the card and did some further investigating, only to find out he was scamming me from the start. Beware!

Today I received a call from Scott-owen and coner about a 13 year old debt from old navy. I was 19 at the time. They said I was going to get served and sued in court if I didn’t make a payment plan. Idk of this is real or a scam.

I got a call from same guy 8885046624 saying if i didn't pay $900 within an hour I'd be getting served papers next week and have to pay $2500

Called saying I was being sued for an old bank account from a bank that does not exist anymore. When I told the lady on the phone that I thought this was a scam she started yelling at me. Saying now they will serve me and my deal is off the table when I said I would contact the bank directly.

What number did they call you from? 888-348-0953 or 888-490-2391? I was called also. Idk if it’s real or a scam.

Called me out of the blue and said I owed wells Fargo like $1000... Haven't had an account with them in over 10 years. Won't email me anything giving evidence i owed money just an account number the weeks Fargo knows nothing about. These guys are scammers, their website just went up this year and pretty sure i talked to a gentleman who tried to do the same thing to me a couple years ago from their phone number! Don't give these guys a cent they're a scam

Got a phone call and then a text saying someone was looking to deliver to (some person that isn’t me) “certified documents” that require a signature. They left the 888 number and reference number of 2020-20844. Google search shows a scam website (the site is poorly made, lacking info that legit businesses have on their website, no contact information except their 888 phone number, and a “services” page that is completely blank) and reports of others who are being threatened with bogus lawsuits.
