My husband and I were looking for a Jack Russell Terrier puppy as a gift to our 13 years old son and found this website https://scottjackrussellspups.com/ on google. On Wednesday September 16th 2020 we called the number on the website 216-239-3417 but no one answered, then I contacted them through their website chat and was asked to call the same number. When I called the number back, the guy said his name is Scott and asked me to text him about the puppy we are interested in. We provided the information about the puppy (Ryan) and sent him a screenshot of the puppy from their website. Then we discussed about how we will get the puppy from Ohio to WI. He provided us the cost for the puppy $700 and the delivery fee of $150 but he takes payment via Zelle only as his PayPal account was blocked/hacked. I mentioned that I do not feel too comfortable sending funds through Zelle but he assured that "this is their family business since 2008 and has 100% refund policy. We never ripped off anyone and you won’t be the first. We have been verified by google and that is why the website can be seen and we don't run scam". If we pay all money up front then he said the puppy can be shipped next day via transcontinentalpetexpress.com. Then he provided us with his email for the transaction [email protected]. Once he received the payment, he said he will send us the bill of sale document in an hour. We called several times for the bill but he did not respond to our calls for few hours but then he picked up the call and said that he will send us the dog bill of sale document to be signed which my husband signed and sent him right away via email. He said next day I will get a call from the shipping company and will go over the terms and process. Next morning he sent us a text stating that there is a refundable fee of $600 for the pet insurance that shipping courier charges and he wanted us to pay him that fee directly to avoid any delays. We told him that we will pay to the shipping courier directly and will talk to them if it’s optional or not. After that he said he will send us the tracking number for the shipping agency in an hour. I called him after 2 hours and he said he will sent it right away which was the last communication we had with him. Since then he did not respond to our calls but he texted me saying he is driving and cannot take any calls. After this we called and texted, but no response and then he blocked our numbers. We called the courier to see if it’s a legit company but we were getting the voicemail only. On Sunday September 20th my husband called him by blocking the outgoing number. The breeder introduced himself as Scott and asked us if we want to buy a puppy. We asked him where does he live and he mentioned Cleveland Ohio. We told him that we live in Cleveland Ohio too and wants to see the puppy in person in which he agreed and asked us to pay $300 deposit through Zelle to hold the puppy. He then gave us his address as 15209 Lawndale East, Cleveland OH 44128 and asked us to visit him next Sunday 27th.

We have a copy of bill of sale and communication between the breeder and us. The courier website and his website is still active and he is still taking calls and scamming people. We just wanted to make sure that no one will be the victim of his scam like we are. I did some research and found that the owner of this property is not Christina Santiago and breeder’s phone carrier is Sprint.
