I was initially contacted via text message. They had seen my resume online and wanted to set up an interview. It was set up through the chat app Telegram. Once offered the job, I was also told they'd pay to help set up in home office. My training consisted of assessments said to be testing my abilities. They sent a check for 4250. I deposited into my account. Two days later I was asked to withdraw 4000 and perform a bitcoin transaction to pay the people that would be setting the equipment up. The other 250 was a sign up bonus. Basically, they wanted me to perform the transaction which by the way is irreversible and can't be disputed. I was seeing alot of red flags so I inquired at the bank. They made some calls and come to find out, the check was fraudulent. What would have happened is in a few days, I would have been notified the check was fraudulent and the money would be removed from my account. I would have already sent the other money via bitcoin. Therefore leaving me 4000 short and a huge mess with the bank.
