Someone called me asking if my car is still available and got disconnected. The number is located at somewhere in NY which I've never heard of. Then he texted me asking about the milage of the car and said he would be happy to see the car in person if I order a report from SCANNEDVIN.COM. I checked the website and it costs $18.69 for a single report. I told him that I laready have one from AutoCheck and I would like to start from this one. He then insisted on having one report ordered on SCANNEDVIN.COM which made me suspecious. I asked what his name is and if he is an individual or a dealer buying. He replied with "Once I received the report I will be happy to make an appointment to see the care in person. I've had my eyes on XXXXX and am ready to buy". I didn't reply unitl 3 minutes later he texted me agian to ask if I'm still here. I said I've never heard of SCANNEDVIN.COM before and do not feel comfortable to order one report on it. Besides, I do believe the AutoCheck report is sufficient to start with. Then he replied "Thank you and I will check my email when I get home tonight". Total scam. Blocked the number.
