My 81 year old mother received both a call and a letter from Commercial Credit Adjusters Ltd. stating they had been retained by SAM (MANAGEMENT) INC to collect on a delinquent account ($2568.32). The Manitoba Tenancies Branch and Lawyer have both confirmed that no claim has been filed on behalf of my mother or the property making this action unauthorized and collection unenforceable and illegal

My mother terminated her tenancy in November 2020 and was first contacted by CCA for collection on July 30,2021. She was a resident at this location for over 17 years and was being charged for painting and maintenance. The unit had never been painted during her tenancy and maintenance requests were seldom acted upon.

It is my concern that above named companies have been successful with this scam in the past and previous tenants most of whom are elderly/infirm are being targeted
