Sallie Mae sent a letter stating an application (had an application #) had been approved for $10,000, but no application had ever been made. The letter also said it was sent to Sallie Mae from Sallie Mae, via email. The form wanted to know the person's bank account number and other personal information.

This scammer has called me through 23 different numbers. He is of indian decent and is pretending to be employed by sallie mae, or even the us financial aid office. He wants your information, don't talk to him or say yes or ok or anything he can record and use to confirm something in your name.

Repeatedly called me. If I picked up would leave an automated message claiming to be Sallie Mae telling me to call back. If I did not pick up they would leave a message. Called back out of frustration and was asked for my personal information including SS Number and told I had a balance that needed to be paid. I pay my loans via the sallie may website and the women on the other end seemed intentionally vague. Judging by other reports I've read online they have been harassing many other people too. I am worried because they have my personal info but I did not give them money. 877-604-8834
