Rented a 2022 Jeep Gladiator Mohave for our trip out to Denver CO from a Ricardo Canelon (dba Safaricon Overland). Mr. Canelon rents vehicles through Turo and Outdoorsey- but when asked he was just doing this through himself. We started talking about this rental 4/21/2022 for a planned trip to pick up the vehicle at Denver Airport on 5/26 and return on 5/29-2022 at the airport for a fee of $940. We paid an additional $500 deposit that was to be returned when vehicle was found in good working order. The deposit was to be returned within 7 days after the vehicle return which should have been6/5/2022.. I sent a message 6/6/2022 with a response he would get the deposit back to me tomorrow. Mr. Canelon never mentioned any deduction at that time. I received only $350 of the $500 back from the deposit with a message stating that the vehicle was in good working condition but charged me for parking in East Economy lot instead of West Economy lot at the Denver Airport. There was no communication about this fee being charged related to a specific parking lot. In fact, when we arrived, we were supposed to pay for one day of parking and instead we were forced to pay $34 dollars, which was two days of parking. I even sent Mr. Canelon a message when dropping the vehicle at the airport on our return home with pictures of where the vehicle was parked with no response to move the vehicle or pay an extra fee. I have requested my money back, and Mr. Canelon has messaged me about being a ex con and for me to take accountability and something about white privilege. Not sure what this means. This is disturbing coming from a man who is running a business and dealing with people. This makes me wonder if there have been other complaints about his less than stellar business practices. I looked up business name of Safaricon Overland with the CO Secretary of State- no such business exists.
