I was a first time seller on the website Poshmark. I got messaged by a lady who was interested in some shoes i had for sale. She said to email her. I did and she asked if she could send me the money and i could send her the shoes. OK, so get around the fees, i get it. But then she said her Dad made out the cashier's check for her monthly stipened or something and when i get it to contact them. I really didn't under stand cause it was broken English and not very easy to comprehend. So i thought, ok we'll just wait to see what even happens. They sent me a text to confirm when i'd get the check and i texted them that i got it. For $40 shoes it was made out for $850, and I could take an extra $15 for the trouble. Thanks! So finally seeing it, I acted stupid and asked really stupid questions to them and they asked what kind of bank I had, I said a credit union, asked if I had an ATM, that it would clear through there ASAP, and I could get the funds right out, which you can't. They also wanted a copy of the bank receipt that i cashed it. All of this was too much for a pair of $40 shoes. So, i started to Google names and phone numbers to see if they were real. I finally went to my credit union and also had a call to the BBB, but it was going to be up to 24 hrs before they got back to me. The bank said it could be a real check, but cashing it could lead to other things and they would still have to put a hold on it for 5 days, SMART. The ScamPulse.com called back and left a message and said do not cash it, it is a scam. So they texted today and i told them i was not cashing it and would send it back, and to erase my number.
