At first I thought it was legit. We called the 512-734-8538 number and talked to “Ryan” who said he and his wife have been breeding puppies for 8 years. His accent was Asian and he was a little hard to understand at times. He asked which puppies we were interested in. We narrowed it down to 3 females we saw on the site and asked a lot of questions. He then interviewed our family to make sure we were a suitable, loving, caring family for the puppy. Of course we were a perfect fit. After we said we chose a puppy he put the hard sale on and wanted us to hurry and pay. I wanted to use PayPal and it was listed on the site as preferred payment. He said he could use PayPal because of certain complications. Asked me to use Zelle or Apple Pay. I couldn’t use Zelle because my bank is not supported. I tried Apple Pay and got a fraud alert. I told him about the alert and he said to go ahead and send. Uhhh, no. From that point forward, I became more and more suspicious. He wouldn’t tell me details about transportation, wanted me to go to Walgreens and do an American Express transfer. He wouldn’t FaceTime me so I could see him with the puppy. It just became obvious this was a scam.
