I have a Travel Trailer for sale on the RVTrader web site and in 4 days, had one query. The interested buyer (supposedly), Viviane Miller, sounded very positive and wanted to know payment options (to pay me) and to set up a meet to see the trailer. However, she sent an email saying she had been scammed before when she bought a trailer that had been through accidents, so she wanted me to provide maintenance history and a VIN search and she provided a link to a VIN search engine that would only cost $12. All this was done over a couple of emails. I got nervous about the VIN search engine link and did not put my credit card information into the site. I decided to do some research and couldn’t find the VIN search engine that her link went to (other than her link) , but did find ones I had heard of before (Carfax, etc…) and decided to do the search on one the ScamPulse.com had listed. I sent this to her, explaining why I didn’t use her VIN Search link. Since then, what seemed like an active positive experience, I have heard nothing from her and I have sent one or two follow ons asking when she wanted to see the trailer with no response and now I am convinced it was all an elaborate scam, using your platform to get credit card information. I have notified RVTrader about the experience.
