This person approached me via email saying they had found my CV and profile and thought I was a perfect fit for a creative design position. They said it would be 50 an hour after the full text based interview process, and that I needed to start at the end of the week. So I quit my job after they sent me a w-4 and an employee contract and told me I was in. To check the person was valid, I looked them up, and they are listed as an employee at rust-oleum on LinkedIn. However, when I checked the name of the person who signed the contract. Her bio on linked in says she is not hiring creative freelancers, do not give personal info to anyone asking. But by this time the person had sent me a check to deposit to buy equipment. Which he wanted me to use my phone to do instead of the bank. So I tried, but it didn't work. So I went to the bank anyway and the bank told me it was a fraudulent check. So I got back home and looked up the IP address of the person so see if I could find any info that matched the profile picture on Skype. And the housing and surrounding people in the area didn't match, so I knew he was a fraud pretty much.
