I received a text from a Michael Dumas stating that I have been chosen to be a secret shopper and that I would be receiving an email with information that I would need to complete my assignment and a check delivered by USPS with more information on my assignment. On my email I received I got my agency number (9550) and the following message: My name is Micheal Dumas the contact person for the Secret Shopper job, am happy to tell you that your application has been accepted also you have been assigned as one of our secret agents with agency number #9550. Please keep your agency number as that will be referenced on subsequent communication ..... Payment has been approved for your first assignment it will get to you weekend or Monday via the USPS Postal Service, we will also send an assignment instruction memo together with the payment please look forward to receiving it..... NOTE: (VERY IMPORTANT) HENCEFORTH ALL CORRESPONDENCE SHOULD BE THROUGH THIS NEW EMAIL ( [email protected] ) YOU CAN SEND A TEXT TO (727)-756-8189 on receipt of this email kindly send acknowledgement email to 1.) [email protected] 2.) send acknowledgement text to (727)-756-8189 I knew right then and there this was a scam. I kept all the texts and the email sent to me and decided to report this. A few days later a courier envelope was delivered and a letter and a check for 1950.00 and instructions were inside. I got a text asking if I received my task and check and I replied that I never received it. I would just like to know where to report this to the officials and not just complain about it.
