Saw a puppy on their website. Contacted them thought the contact us page on the website. Communicated back and forth via text initially. More pictures of the puppy were sent. Felt somewhat comfortable with them. They requested payment of $650 for the puppy plus $195 for shipping through Zelle. Could not get Zelle to work. Asked if Venmo was ok. They said it was ok. Sent payment. They contacted us saying that it went though and they would get the shipping process started.

The next morning received an email from the shipping company saying that a thermal crate was required because of weather conditions. Said that we needed to put a deposit on the crate that would be refunded when the puppy was delivered. Had three options for the crates. They ran from $950 to $1600. At that point we knew we had been scammed. Contacted the seller and he assured us that it was legit and seemed to know way too much about the shippers internal processes and told us to go ahead and go through with it. Decided we already lost enough and wasn't going to add more money to it. Asked the seller for a refund and never heard back from him.

I was taken in by the same scam. I filed complaints on line with the Federal Trade Commission and the Texas State Attorney General's Office. It was relatively easy. The more people who complain, the better. Contact me if you want more info: [email protected]
