His niece contacted me on rover.com saying her uncle was moving here and needed someone to care for his dog 8 hours a week $300 a week. Then said he needed me to buy groceries so he would be having his accountant send me a cashiers check that i can cash and then use the rest to buy food for the dog .... and asked for my info so that the cashiers check could be mailed out with keys.

Rover.com offers employment opportunities for you to pet sit for others. You must complete a profile, have friends fill out testimonials, etc. you also pay 25-35 usd for a background check. I was approved and a month later I have not been contacted for any services. Not only is this not a good way to make money, you are out the background check fee. This is a scam because they know there are more dog sitters than people who use the service in our area. If you are broke, so sorry we took your last few bucks.
