Individual initially attempted to list a set of wheels for sale on eBay. Payment was sent via paypal. Immediately after purchase, I was sent a message that "paypal didn't work" and to complete the transaction via credit card off eBay. When I declined and asked to proceed through eBay, seller relisted item through different user name. I won the second auction, and the seller refused to ship wheels. The ebay account stated that an employee stole the wheels and listed them illegally. However, when I called the phone number given by the first seller (business address for Ron's Used Tires), this person instead said a wheel was dropped and the set was scrapped days ago. They then offered to replace the set I purchased with another set if i paid with my credit card over the phone. Seller had no intentions of selling me the wheels, and was clearly attempting to get me to pay with a credit card with no buyer protection from the purchase.
