I was looking to adopt a pet after losing mine almost two years ago. On my search I found what I thought was an adorable mini dachshund. I looked at the website and it all seemed legitimate I submitted my application to get the dog and I was contacted soon after . Everything seemed fine I was sent videos and photos of the dog and the person selling me the dog told me the form of payment they prefer . I wanted to at first use a credit card because I felt it was safer but through my research in adopting a dog most fosters / seller usually take Zelle or cash as the adoption fee instead of credit cards so it seemed again legitimate. Well I submitted the money and it all seemed fine I was supposed to receive the dog and got an email confirmation from the seller of me being contacted soon about the tracking of the phone and to stay close to my phone ext . I got an urgent email saying that the dog could not be sent unless it was in a certain crate and i had to pay and get a full refund when the dog was delivered to me . The puppy never arrived I called and contacted both places and nothing . I received a text message at 1am from the seller saying they lost their phone at the mall. And now demanding I speak with them. It make me sick that there are people like that out there in the world that are allowed to do this to hurt and steal . Verifications for websites should be regulated .
