While activating my new Roku, I got a call from what I thought was tech support to finish setting up the account. I finished setting up the account with him, and he advised I would need to pay $59 for an annual fee for the Roku or I could pay $199 for life. I planned to use the Roku a long time, so I opted for the lifetime fee. Turns out, there is no lifetime fee or any fee to set up a Roku. I cancelled my credit card before the charge went through, and am now much the wiser. First time I have been scammed, and I've had years in the IT industry. This company is SLICK! Never pay a fee for Roku, once you buy it, that's it!
