This Robert Perry pretended to be a hiring manager for Avalo Therapeutics. He sent me an Email first with the job details. Then he gave me a text-only interview over Zoom for a Data Entry Clerk role. Finally, he sent me a W4 form and an offer letter, both of which appeared genuine to me. He asked me to write notes concerning the acquisition of skills relevant to an administrative assistant role. He had a check sent to me from a person named Billy Newman, who claimed to be the Chief Financial Officer of "the company." I foolishly deposited the check. Then Robert told me to send the money via online payment services such as Zelle and Cashapp. I foolishly complied. Then the check was returned unpaid. From speaking with a representative of my bank, this check was likely a fraudulent check.
