The individual exploited the victim when they were in their most vulnerable state by persisting in being "in love with" the victim and persistently asking for account information at this time as well as other forms of money exchange. The individual persisted in expressing the need for the information and the value that it would have within the relationship. The individual would ask about family and friends as engaged with the victim as though they wanted to know more when they only wanted to pry for more and more financial information. With persistence, the victim provided the data, and money transfers equalling over $40,000 ensued. The victim is now presented with having to pay the bank back the money as they were told it is their responsibility since they gave out their information. Bank is not helping the victim and persistently requires that the victim pay them back immediately. Wire transfers should be illegal and monitored more closely, just as a check is monitored when deposited.
