I attempted to rent from this landlord. There is no address listed for him, just his partner on the assesors site. A home for rent and an apartment unit attached to the garage in the back. Apartment has been textured and painted very pretty. Apartment had no electricity to the outlets, only lights. After signing a lease I was told the washer and dryer did not work simultaneously. There were curtains put over a broken living room window lock. I got locked in the garage as they gave me a dying remote. The refrigerator stopped working as there was only power to the outlets for the hot water tank and refrigerator in the kitchen. I could not plug in an alarm clock or charge my cell phone anywhere in the unit. I paid first, last and deposit and then they tried to get me to pay for August and do a new walk through. After eight days of waiting they told me I had forfeited after moving my things out when the shower wall was improperly caulked. (the tub stopper did not work either) I could not shower or live in the unit for the eight days I had the keys. There were ants coming in from the trash cans outside the kitchen window as well. They refused to spray, they asked me to do no repairs myself. After I left they asked me to do repairs to the shower wall myself. I told them I am not a contractor and did not know how to do the repairs myself. The refrigerator was not working the bathroom door had hinges for a door but was missing the door and I was refused when asking if there was a door to put back on. There were exposed outlets in the garage. The microwave was sitting on top of a hot water tank in the kitchen. I had planned to move it to the other side but I am not sure if this was code. Nothing in this apartment worked. On 8/6 I was told I forfeited my first, last and deposit. I was originally told that instead of the refund they were offering to do a new walk through and fix everything. I don't think the landlord could fix things themselves financially. They kept ALL of my Money is what they are telling me at this point. I am sure that they will take someone elses money if they need to pay the mortgage on the house in the front of the dwelling as it was up for rent as well. Watch for this scam as Robert Maloy will take all your money and not give anything back. I don't even remember emailing on this particular unit and I started to get text messages regarding this unit up for rent. I was looking at the time but was unaware it could be a rip off scam.
