My daughter in law broke down right off of 77 South in SC. She found a towing service online and they told her it would cost $200 and take between 30-60 minutes . She said ok and gave her Visa # to them. About 45 minutes later, they called her back to tell her it would be another $100 plus she will have to wait an another half hour over and above what they told her. She opted out because that wasn’t her original quote and thought $300 was too much. They said fine, but you are going to be charged $79 cancellation fee!! What? They increase her price and wait time… she should have the right to opt out without paying a fee for false advertising. My husband called the company later that evening to check them out and they told him they were out of Cleveland ( he has an Ohio phone #) They told her they were out of Charlotte, NC. So they lie according to where you call them from. I believe this company is a scam and just wants to get people to agree with their price/time and get their credit card number because they are desperate on the side of the road!!

Man on the ramp entrance to the Grand Central Highway by LaGuardia Airport waved me down. Said he needed money for gas and to get his family to Miami. He offered jewelry as collateral for $400. He claimed he would pay me back next week. It appears his vehicle was a white SUV BMW. He spoke broken English and asked about my ethnicity. He identified as Muslim, he didn't say what country. Stocky man, about 5'8", light brown skin.
