A widely advertised Facebook clearance flash sale of "Bath and Body" items (many 3-wick candles), during the recent holiday times. Uses the "count- down" timer/flash sale tactic (less time to notice obvious red flags that we all know). You put selected items in your cart, check out, as normal. The VERY minute you hit enter for your payment- a pop-up screen appears (some words in a foreign lang.), then it disappears. Another screen appears that is supposed to be a "confirmation " page. It's glaringly grammicaly incorrect, it has a hyperlink to my order summary but nothing happens when I click on it, and, it refers to me by just my last name. I, obviously, know I have been scammed. But they have payment. I go to my email and see an email asking me to-- (here, I'll just copy/paste the actual body of said email I received: )

Customer service email: [email protected]".

I,of course, don't click any links. I email @ provided address. I asked: "Please clarify this email and

the reason why I was sent to a

pop-up screen with non-

English language on it?". No response given. I received another email (this one looked very much "legitimate "). A receipt for payment from Risetor.com (looked like some tye of "pay-pal" type of service). This had a receipt #, payment amount, and my CC info. There was an email for questions. With absolutely no way to contact the original sales person (they ghosted/left nothing), I decided to email [email protected]. No response. I then received email from Track718- who calls themselves a package tracking platform. There were several days/weeks of obvious bogus tracking tactics in Dongguan, China, several back/forth emails w/this tracking service, then realizing this website was an unsafe site for my computer. My last response from the tracking service advised me: "This is TRACK718, a package

tracking platform. Our website

is open and free.

Everyone can visit our

website.

Therefore, the seller will use

and recommend our service to

you for tracking

This does not mean that we

cooperate with the seller.

We have neither goods

transportation business nor

goods sales business". "If

you have not received the

goods or have incorrect

logistics information,

it is recommended to contact

the seller directly for handling

"If you cannot contact the seller

and think you have been

cheated,

it is recommended that you file

a complaint with the payment

company to recover your

losses as soon as possible". This tracking service did not have/could not tell me any of my personal information (entire name, address for any sent(ing) package, etc...) So, I have given my CC Co. the info. for dispute. It's only $59.01. It's more about stealing (fraudulantly- money, and personal info.) And about how many others it's happened most likely to. The unwanted stress from worrying about any ramifications because of this is also great.
