Found a remote position on zip recruiter for a graphic designer which I applied for - received several emails asking for Name & Address and pretty sure if I had waited longer would have been asked for my direct Debit Details and Credit Card information. I called Desert Property Inspection Services directly upon receiving a questionable offer of employment - Not only had the company not heard of their "HR department" they hadn't advertised any positions through Zip Recruiter, and I wasn't the first person to call and let them know their company was being used in this way. They KNOW - they just don't know what to do about it OR how to make it stop.
