Scammer calls, the automated voice system doesn't begin until prompted by the victims voice. They describe what prize you're being selected to win, then they say if you're interested press 1. After pressing 1, you're then transferred to a live operator who asks "are you over the age of 38".

I received a missed call, called the number back and was presented with two options. "Press 1" to speak to an associate to claim the reward and "press 2"if not interested.

First, I chose option 1. I was connected to someone who asked for personal information (first name, last name, address, email, credit card for shipping).

Next, I tried option two and it ended the call.

Saying i was chossen to recive 100 gift card just had pay 3 dollars s &h which became 19 and I asked what are the gimmick after we do this. He said no whih in the past I have revived gift cards just for being loyal and active, this one would go to my son's school nèds, but as the call went on he kept a kept adding on more thing abd shipping cost to just try them, like wrckel cream, I'm 27 and allergic to most on my skin. And during the recurring I wasn't told yes or no, I was told yes or say ok. If I flat said I didn't want it he e a it after first trial you can call and cancel or it'll be a ridicules price. But when I went to call back I get the transfer message then line not inservice. Thinking back he never gave name or date on recording I think I was to store my info

I received a call from 281-806-5671 saying I qualified for a Reward of a $100.00 gift certificate.

I asked how I received this award and I was told it had to do with being a frequent shopper at a major retail store.

I asked what I had to do to redeem this reward, he told me a credit card number or Debit card #.

This is when I started to call him out on the scam. He became belligerent and extremely unprofessional.

I informed him that I do not shop at any major retail stores, I do not have a credit card and that none of my purchasing is associated with my phone number. This is an old scam and I am surprised people still fall for it...NEVER GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO A STRANGER.
