Responses to Listings on Craigslist Reports & Reviews (1)

After posting multiple times on Craigslist (NYC, North Jersey, Central Jersey, and other surrounding regions) with various items, what appears to be an automated response or bot is either emailed and/or text messaged to me with the same response which I will summarize below. There is clearly intent to defraud here however I do not know their exact endgame. Each time the response starts with the exact title of the Craigslist post and saying they will pay the price via paypal then goes on to explain in some fashion how they are not local or work in some extraordinary job field that does not permit anything but text or email communication. Next they say they will have to have their movers come to pickup the item(s), and also as of only recent versions of this scam, that they cannot pay their movers directly but want you to do so and will pay more to cover this. In the response it also goes on to ask 4 basic questions about the item's condition and price, most of which has already been answered in the Craigslist post and would be easily seen by an actual person.
