Unfortunatly Apparently its not illegal . I went to what i thought was Baymont Wyndham hotel site. Couldn't get a room through website. Called the number hard to hear , person very pleasant with very thick accent said this was reservations. I believe she specifically said Wyndham but not positive. Did book the room but charged me 146.50 over what they paid the hotel. Found out from the hotel it wasn't their site. They post on hotel sites placing their number. They then overcharge. According to posts online people have gotten taken much worse. I just want people to understand this exists . They skate by using a name that makes it sound like you're speaking to reservations at your hotel. When you call they just tell you its legal or someone will call back.They're probably international so i doubt they're touchable. Its unethical if not technically illegal
