I was supposed to be renting the property. I signed a lease and paid 950 deposit and 950 first month . They were supposed to meet me to give me the keys but never showed up. I tried calling and the number was not working. I decided to go to the property since I had a lease and documents for my deposit plus a mortgage satisfaction document. The owner came out and told me I had been scammed and showed me his case number from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. I then called my bank , PayPal and Xoom to report it to get my money refunded but they all denied the claim even though I filed a police report . I have a lot of documents , messages and photos but no one will help me recover my funds. I’m now homeless and broke .

A person renting a house had me use this website and they charged me without authorization and then when I called they didn’t put me on the line with a person. I emailed them and no response. After looking up the website people said it was a scam. They have my person information like my phone number, address, social, etc

I was told to Paypal money for an application fee on a rental property. He said applying would hold the property for me. Then he said I had to pay $350.00 for a deposit before I could see the property. I paid the $350.00 and the $60.00 application fee and he said Zillo would not let me see the property until I paid $700.00 rent. I told him I wanted a refund. He said ok and sent me a notice where my money would be refunded upon receipt of my $700.00 rent. I told him I would not pay $700.00 rent.

I found this man online to rent an apartment. He answered my message on Facebook Messenger. He seemed very honest. All very helpful for me because i was working 4.5 hours away and trying to get me an apartment in greenwood, ar. I talked with this man for over a week. He said he was a christian man that I could trust him. I have all of conversation on my facebook messenger of what he requested and times I paid him for rent , deposit, him requesting a key fee as well. He got photo of my D.L. and my social security card and even info of my I.D. .gov identity. He has everything. He even had my phone number. I changed my phone number. I have done a police report as of today and I have talked to the bank where an echeck has come through for this man whose paypal name was Nathaniel Cook. He has gotten all my information! This man needs caught!! I did my deposit and my rent through one of my bank accounts but the echeck is coming out of my 2nd bank account. I didnt hear from him after friday feb 2nd 2024 after i gave my DL and my SS card photos and my ID me.gov info. He contacted me again this monday morning 02/05/2024. Thats when I went to police department to file a report. He tried to get my EIN today and I refused anymore info to him and went to police. He is a scammer and I'm sure with this facebook profile he has done many people this way.

House located in 4441 Birch road was listed. A man by the name of Frank Edward sent me a rental application through a rental site. Requested the fee for application. Then I was approved for the home I was then sent a draft of a lease and we set up a tour date. Once lease and date was set I was requested to send the security deposit the day of the tour he requested first month rent and never met for the tour. Frank told me to send the funds over to his wife(773) 858-4360 to his finically bank being messed up currently.He supposedly was coming out of town for an funeral after the payment he cut off all contact never got the keys and lost out on almost 3 grand.

My son found a house to rent in Marion, Ohio on Facebook Marketplace. Chad Beaber said he needed a $75 fee upfront by Paypal or Venmo. I talked to him, he was a foreigner. He said it was refundable if we didn't get the place. I asked why we had to pay before we got to see the house, but he never got back to me. We went to the home and spoke to the new owner, that's how we learned it was a scam.

I thought I was on Zillow and they requested for me to pay a $1.00.  I gave them my bank card information and they ended up charging me $28.95.  I called my bank and they disputed the $1.00 but come to find out it was not zillow at all it was called Us Home Checks.com.  I called the business and they stated that they represent over 400 business and I asked them do they scam people all the time all night long and she didn't respond. So, now I have dispute the $28.95 with my bank.

I was attempting to rent a property online at Florida rentals.com. From a person using the name Marty Price. I

Researched the company read reviews and emailed back and forth for a couple months, he had a legitimate contract and sent me the address. The rent was 2300.00 for a month, I only needed to send half, everything seemed legit. I hesitated to send the money for a long time, I finally decided it was real I sent the money by Zelle through my bank which is what he requested in the contract. Said guarantee 100% refund if I cancelled. After I sent the money he emailed me the next day and told me he didn’t receive the money, and then asked me to wire 4750.00, that is when knew I had been scammed. He asked me to screen shot the pmt and then asked me for another 3700. And wanted me to send it to some other bank account. I called my bank and asked if they could stop pmt they said Zelle is transferred immediately, They will be doing an investigation and I could possibly get my money back. Would take at least 45 days. I thought this was a legitimate web site.

Ad read "private landlord, houses, apartments for rent and sale, immediate occupancy, affordable prices, inbox me for more information. I logged on to ask about this picture shown looked good and he asked my name and address, and asked for a $60 application fee, told me several cards I could get to put it on and I didnt know almost any of them so he recommended the apple card I got it and loaded it to him, then he asked for $300 deposit and when I got it, he'd get the lease ready, meantime after getting the 300 and rent, I went to see where the home was that he'd given me the address for, looked like someone living there, several cars, truc, camper trailer there, curtains in the windows. I told him there was someone living there, he said not, I asked for my deposit back, he gave me a different address, a different home, I demanded to see a home, wouldn't pay any more money until I did see one. He said if i didn't pay the rent he'd come get me and take me to the home to go there, then give me the recepts for money paid. Signed lease and he gave me the keys, I said no, want to see a house, but want my deposit back and I changed my mind about moving.  No rent was paid, I'm suspicious as he wont show me a house, said he couldnt return my deposit, I asked why, he said he done everything for me to get me approved and I didn't have to do anything he had done it all. 

I had called the the sheriff's department (Mecosta county) they had never heard of Morgan Rentals, I called the apple gift card company and they wanted the cards and receipts downloaded and I didnt know how to download anything couldnt find anyone who knew how to do it. I then called you and also the FBI which you recommended to me.

I ORDERED CLOTHING OFF A WEBSITE BACK IN MAY 2023 BUT NEVER RECEIVED THEM. YESTERDAY I RECEIVED THIS RING IN THE MAIL THAT I DIDN'T ORDER.

Box received in the mail with "a "diamond" ring and a Certificate of Authenticity from Global Gemological Research Academy thought it was from Amazon as it arrived the same time as Amazon Boxes. Constantly checking Bank for charges, none found

John P. Flannery -tried to lease me a property in Ozark Mo.  I was wanted to move there. I sent him some money so I could move into the property.  I got curious.  I requested my money back and he requested more money.  This guy stated that he owned the property, but he did not.  I contacted a realtor in Springfield and she stated that this guy stole photos off of her website and used them in his scam  the realtor stated that four other people have contacted her regarding this individual.  He scammed me out of $3000.00.  He is a scammer.

On 2/21/23 I found about a property listing for rent on Facebook Marketplace. I communicated with someone named Peter Calbe about the property. I went in person to view the listing and he was not there.  They said it sounded like a scam and they would report him. I contacted Peter Calbe and he requested that I send him $750 through CashApp so no one else would move forward with the home. I realized it was a scam and did not pay him the $750. This was a real listing  but the individuals selling actually selling the home said they didn't know anything about Peter Calbe. They also said it was a scam and they would report him.

On Sunday 5/21/23 I was trying to find a rental home and I was on Facebook Marketplace communicating with Dale G. I reached out to this company and they contacted me, they had me upload my information to verify my credit report by using my SSN # and bank account information to charge me a $1 one time processing fee. Nieves Diaz spoke to me to verify my identify through Identity IQ. They used PFM Verify to verify my credit score. Both of the verification companies were a subscription that I needed to cancel to not be further charged later. Steve contacted me by text and provided a number for me to call when I was ready to view the properties. He also said he would send me a listing of the property after my verification went through. I never received the listing after my verification went through. Also, Steve also told me to contact him so that he would unsubscribe me from the PFM Verify. However when I contacted the number I have for Steve I continued to get hung up on earlier today. When I contacted them both by email about receiving the listings neither of them responded. Since this has occurred Dale G has been removed from Facebook Marketplace.

I paid this person for a rental property in the amount of $1025.00 and paid for a locksmith.  when the locksmith came out they ran into a bigger problem.  The property manager came out and stated that we have been scammed.

Saw property on Zillow clicked option to view property. Time later I was sent a message and I spoke with Carson Byles; we started talking on the phone. 832-409-3097. He told me about his background and this was my first time renting. I didnt see any red flags. Claimed the house was his grandparents and he wanted to rent it out. I ended up signing a lease and got keys to the home for move in May 1st. Last week Carson called and was I going to send $200 for washer and dryer. Until I paid I wasnt going to get it installed I told him I had the money and he wanted to meet up at property to put in washer and dryer. I sent the money and I screenshotted for proof and the next day to meet at 2pm and nobody shown he stopped responding and I havent heard from him since. I sent him overall $950 through Cash App. Morgan Financial claimed they wanted

******* **** contacted me about a 2 br apartment, near Sarasota, FL, he had for rent for 1000/mo. $500 deposit, $85 application fee both fully refundable if I don't like the place or area after I pay. The apartment was actually a house. First, one of my Cash app payments for $85 didn't go through so I paid a second time. All of a sudden there are about 3 or 4 more people involved, plus his brother is the landlord. Then he said he had someone who wants to rent it and can pay 2 months rent up front. I tell ******* to rent it, I'm not giving him any more money without walking through the house. I demanded a full refund since I never signed a lease or seen the inside of the house. So now I have to pay $ 200 for termination of a lease agreement I never signed!!! It doesn't pay to be desperate. Now I'm close to homeless for the first time in all my years. BEWARE of good deals.
