He pretended to own a house for rent - he asked for application fee of $225.00. Then he kept demanding for a deposit of $1,000.00, whish seems sketchy.

He was calling and text messaging several times a day since first contact asking for the deposit without meeting and having a walkthrough of the property first which made us very suspicious.

I went online to check and found the property was recently sold to a different name and is not for rent nor for sale.

Upon investigation, Facebook Marketplace has several postings of rentals that are false.

In May of this year, 2022, my son was looking for a rental as his landlord was selling the home they were currently renting. I came across a 3bdrm home in New Port Richey FL, for $995. A steal these days. I requested more info and was initially contacted by "Donna" (if that's here real name). She directed me on the terms of the application fee & process. The fee per household tenant was $89 each, nonrefundable. My son and roommate completed their applications and submitted them with all required documentation, I. e, banking and proof of employment, current and previous landlord(s)/rental history AND the fee of $178.00. The very next day, my son gets a call from a gentleman by the name of Bob Johnson. The application was denied. Mr Johnson told him he couldn't give specifics as to why, however, he would be receiving a detailed letter in the mail in 7-10 business days. Letter has never been received to date, August 30, 2022. I decided to do my own research and found the same house had just been sold and the owners were living there with NO INTENTION TO RENT IT. I tried to reach Donna and Mr. Johnson to no avail. Once the rental business received the app fee and the two men had been denied, we never heard back. I decided to request info under my nickname. This time I received a text (always a text) from Jocelyn with links to the virtual walk thru and application. Once again I requested more info under my maiden name. This third time I received a text from Jake. Same thing as you will see in the attached msgs.

Apparently, during my n oseying around, this is common practice for these people. They are NOT accredited with the Better Business Bureau give them an F rating, with similar complaints as mine. NOTE: THIS HOUSE IS LOCATED AT 3750 BROCK STREET, NEW PORT RICHEY FL, AND IS STILL BEING ADVERTISED FOR RENT.

I've noticed on ScamPulse.com the complaints have been in existence since 2016. HOW CAN YOU ALLOW THIS KIND OF CORRUPT PRACTICE TO CONTINE? ISNT THE ScamPulse.com SUPPOSED TO REPORT WIRE FRAUD TO THE FEDERAL AUTHORITIES?
