I contacted Juliette Underwood for a rent to own home. I found her through a Google search when looking for a home $1700 or less. I filled out an online form and was contacted by her. She asked for my name, address, and how long I was staying at the apartment I currently lived. She provided three different homes for me to take a look at. During our conversation she told me she was currently in the hospital and sent me an address to the location. I paid $250 deposit through Walmart to Walmart, and I was told she would bring me the key to the house I chose, and I was supposed to moved in on 5/1/23. Next she asked $1,550, the first and last month's rent. I had a cashier's check for the $1,550 but she didn't want to except the cashier check but wanted another electronic transfer. I have been trying to get the keys from this person for the past two weeks. She says that she's afraid to come to the neighborhood because she thinks she will get robbed. She is also refusing to give me back my $250 deposit.
