Type of a scam Employment

they initially sent me an email making note that they saw my inormation on upwork. I believed them since i had submitted various proposals trying to get hired as a virtual assistant. I will paste the first email I sent. I basically followed the directions and upon "interview" on telgraph app I was hired, requested identification to which I provided my passport picture, they emailed me a check which I deposited and it still has not gone through. The check was supposedly for needed equipment. The HR guy "Ronald Harrison" insisted on me getting a new bank account for my payroll which was the big red flag for me---but I did get suspicious after I signed the employment contract and started lookng more into their online information because the names on the contract as CEOs were real people but their faces were different! Then I noticed signatures also didnt appear to be matching the names. I will call my bank to cancel that deposit but please beware of these scammers everything seemed super legit to me until now.
