Caller said his name was Robert Garcia. He had a strong accent and i kept hearing a phone beeping as if I had a call coming in while I was on the line. He said our Reliant account would be disconnected in 30 min. if I didn't make a payment immediately. He wouldn't take a credit card over the phone and he was quite rude. I told him i needed an hour to go the location to make an express payment from the locations he suggested (CVS, Walgreens, 7-11, Kroger) which indicated to me it was a money gram or wester union payment. I called Reliant and they said my bill was current. Robert was also very pushy and rude. Not your typical Reliant Energy attitude. Dead giveaway. I called him back and told him i was reporting him and he denied my findings. He then called me back about an hour later asking if I was ready to make the payment. I confronted him again about being a fraud and he was silent.

Called and said they were on the way to turn off my power for non payment. I told them I paid it but they said they had no record. The only way to stop the disconnection was to load a debit card and pay my bill.

Bobby Johnson called our business saying he was with Reliant Energy and that our electricity was going to be disconnected if we didn't pay our bill. Said I could only pay with a debit card or go to Walmart and send a money gram.
