I am in the process of applying for a job . . . I was contacted via text from someone acting as a recruiter. They asked me to contact davis Mark via Skype for more info regarding a job with AECOM (a large global engineering company). The job these people were 'interviewing' me for was not listed on the corporate website. They 'hired' me after a Skype CHAT (not even a phone interview) and instructed be to receive a check for $1000, take $100 out as a sign up bonus, then purchase equipment needed for the AT HOME position for Data Entry/Customer Service from the remaining funds. I told them this sounded like a scam and that I wanted to verify with the company directly . . . crickets/ they quit responding to the chat.
