RemoteCo is a Job Search website. I noticed that when applying for a job, all the other applicants profiles were exposed and I was able to see all their information, so they could see mine. Also, there are some tests you can take and get a percentage of knowledge that is visible in your profile. But it's not possible to delete that information, and if you ask for support, they reply that it doesn't matter, the employers will not look at that. The people in the support department don't use their names, so you get very rude and discriminatory replies as they feel “safe” behind their anonymity. For these reasons I decided to delete my profile and used the button they put there to do it, got the message that my profile will be deleted in 24 hours and knew no more. But also detected one of many, many bugs they have on the website and opened a ticket. For this one, I got a reply, so I took advantage that it seemed that a person actually replied to me and asked about the cancelation of my account and after several rude emails, I found that that person was just not getting what I was requesting. He (and I say he because I call to the number listed below the email signature and got a male mailbox with a name I didn't understand), thought I was trying to cancel a paid subscription as an employer and sent a video saying that they thought I was not legitimate and that they never received any bug report (the website shows all the opened tickets and also that section of the website shows all the names and emails from the people that placed those tickets), mentioned several times that it was my mistake and I didn’t know how to do it. After several emails back and forth with me getting more angry because of the lack of security and attention, he never offered to check on the bug that was not allowing to delete the profiles, or apologized for not getting what I was requesting. Long story short, the account was deleted and him sent the final email saying that "yes, report us to the BBB, so they can see the real madness". I went to research for the CEO of this company and found the information that made me decide to follow this report. This RemoteCo company is registered as RECRUIT SUITE LLC in a website named Open Corporates, and they closed business between Jan 31, 2022 and Feb 27, 2022. The registered officers, managers or agents are not to be found in any place as part of this company, not even LinkeIdn. So, I think they are scam. I´m glad I found out on time, before to be more exposed or even worst, pay something to upgrade my profile.
