Hired company to perform a move out cleaning on a rental property. Site was recommended to me by a realtor friend who never actually used them. Guy greased me up with smooth talking scammer dialogue and said he had an appointment available when I needed it. He said I needed to pay in advance to book the appointment, since this was recommended from a friend I didn't really think twice about it being a scam. I paid him 328 dollars via Venmo (which is a horrible app seemingly designed for scammers as there's no repercussion from stealing money and Venmo refuses to pay you back). On the day of my appointment, they were supposed to arrive in the morning. I drove by the property at noon and no one had arrived yet. I called the guy back and he said all the scammer stuff "Oh man I'm sorry my team isn't there yet....They had two bookings today and you are second.....We are still on track....We'll get you taken care of buddy by close of business....etc....". I drove by the property again at 4 and still nothing. At this point I was suspicious. I tried calling him and only got VM. I left a VM and no return call. The next morning at 8 I drove by the property again and nothing. Now he would no longer take any calls from me or return any calls. I asked my friend if had actually ever used the service as I thought it was a scam and I could tell he actually hadn't. So he calls the guy and he immediately answers thinking he had another sucker on the line. When he found out he was calling on my behalf, he lied and said he'll take care of it, covid has really messed stuff up etc.... My friend later tried calling back and now the guy wouldn't take his calls either. Had another friend call, same story. Total thief scammer.
