Richard Fry (apparently not his real name) of Real Estate Investment Ventures offered to sell our Time Shares in Mexico. We checked with the Sec. of State & saw that the business was listed and that Richard was listed as "in good standing" as a realtor. So we agreed to it. We signed a contract, and were then required to pay various Mexican fees and taxes and were shown by the Title company, Title2Title, that the buyer did in fact reimburse the amount into the escrow account. When we finally, literally ran out of money everything stopped. The Consumer Protection Agency found that both companies websites were fraudulent and finally the Realtor's site is gone but the title company's is still up. 10 wire transfers were made to an account in Mexico. The first one for the permit to sell the time share went to one bank account and all the rest we finally found out was the title company's account. We chose to cancel the sale and were told we had to pay the cancellation fee of $15,456. We told them we didn't have anymore money. The next day the Title co. emailed saying that if we could pay the 4% commission fee to the realtor that would be good enough. I responded that I did NOT have anymore money. (They literally have everything we had plus our business operating money) and asked why I would wire money for a business in Oklahoma to Mexico. We have contacted the OK Attorney General (who turned this over to the FTC who then said it was really in the jurisdiction of the AG), Consumer Protection Agency, filed a report with the FBI's IC3, & are still working with our US Senator's office. We are wondering why, if the Sec. of State's office said that this was a scam and should contact the AG as there have been other complaints, why the realtor is still listed in good standing on their business site? Please look into Real Estate Investment Ventures and Title2Title who says they are in Oklahoma City as well but cannot be found there on Google maps. Their address says Oklahoma, Oklahoma rather than Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I didn't notice it at first.
