I received a text message asking if I would like to be a secret shopper for Kroger. As I am a shopper for other legitimate companies, I replied that I was interested. I got another text indicating that my first assignment would be delivered this week. Today, I received a USPS package via 2d day service. It held some sort of generic sheet with specific instructions to purchase Ebay gift cards at any store, in any denomination and buy $*** worth. Then I was to open the pack, peel the silver scratch-off area, capture images of the card (front and back), and email a shopper report regarding my shopping experience (along with the photos) to [email protected]. In the packet which I received, was also a check in the amount of $*** made to me, drawn against Horizons Federal Credit Union. I was advised to deduct $*** as my payment. I have since contacted this person to indicate I am no longer interested.

Had they not asked for photos for gift cards, I might have fallen for this.
