I don't know if this is a scam, but this gentleman called me and hired me after 1-1/2 interview held on gmail hangouts which I thought was peculiar, texting the whole time. He said there is a new office going up around my area (Mackinaw, IL) but wouldn't tell me where. I had never applied to this Company, but am on unemployment and my resume is on the internet. I gave him my name, address, telephone number, and dob. I now think I was scammed because he did not check my references, did not do a background check, or anything prior to hiring me even though he said I'd have to work with top secret, confidential material. Do you know of anything like this?? He offered me $45.50/hr for a administrative assistant, customer relations person. That's $94,000+ a year. He asked for no references. I was later sent an offer letter to sign, which I was unable to sign. I almost quit a part-time/PRN job over this and now I'm thinking it was a scam but don't know for sure.
