I work from home, so I know that no one tried reaching me at my home. I called the number in the email and was connected to someone named "John". He told me he could improve my credit score in less than six months. (was confused because my credit score is good) When I asked what the name of this company was, he hung up! So, of course, I called back and this time someone named "Trevor" answered. He told me he could get my credit restored in less than 30 days. (which is confusing because my credit has not been cancelled) So I asked the name of the company and he got very cagy. Said he was just a "verifying agent". I then asked who he worked for. He said Consumer Council. I asked where the company was located and he said Clearwater, FL. When I asked if they had a website, he said "yes, we have numerous websites". I then had to prod him into actually giving me a website, which he said he couldn't do because he didn't have that information! So I asked if I googled Consumer Council, if I would get the website and he answered "yes". So I quickly googled Consumer Council and there was nothing except for American Consumer Council. I told him there was absolutely nothing about Consumer Council and he said the internet must be having problems! I then asked him, "if you transfer me to someone, can they answer my questions and give me a website?" He said they could. I had to ask to be transferred to someone who could give me more details and he hung up. I believe these scammers are looking for people $10,000 or more in debt and who are so desperate, they won't ask questions. When you ask questions, they hang up on you.</[email protected]>
