Found a rehoming parrot page on Facebook the administrator, Randall B Scott of the group seem to have credible sources within the group. He was selling parrots. Within the group, there was multiple people that vouched for him stating they received parrots from him and they appreciated not being scammed by him. I reached out to him and wanted more info. We FaceTime and I saw the parrot I was interested in and he asked for half the money of the bird upfront which was $700 and then the shipping fee to ship the bird, which was 300 and the rest, when the bird arrived at my address. The next day the bird was sent to a shipping place called Continental air cargo. I received an email from them with my address, phone number, and the time the bird should be delivered. Shortly after the confirmation email, I got another email stating the bird needed a temperature control, crate and a vaccine in order to be shipped to my house. I was worried at this point they said they would not ship the bird because they needed to ensure climate control, and do whatever they needed to keep the bird safe. I then agreed to Apple Pay $1275 1200 was for the temperature control crates and 75 was the vaccine. I tried to have them send the bird without these, but they would not ship until that transaction was made. The transaction wasn’t made till later in the afternoon which delayed the birds flight so the bird did not get shipped until the next morning and was supposed to arrive at my residence after 10 AM.. I got the confirmation email in the morning saying everything was on schedule.

Shortly after that email, I received another email stating the bird needed another vaccine in order to be delivered at my house which was going to be another $463. At this point, they said the bird was already in my state and would not deliver to my address until I made this vaccination payment. I told them I was not going to make another payment. They said they would refund me for the crate and the vaccine once the bird was delivered to my address, I just had to pay for it upfront and I get my full refund at delivery. I refused to pay it, and they refused to deliver the bird. They would not reimburse me my money $1275. Throughout this process, I tried to ask for pictures of the bird just to make sure they have the bird and it’s safety before I made any more payments to them and they sent me screenshots of a YouTube video of the bird I was buying at a veterinarians office. I called them out on it. No response to that. I also looked up my states vaccine regulations when animals are flying from state to state, none of them required those vaccinations for exotic birds. No response to that either. The only response I received was I had 35 minutes to send them the money for the vaccine of $463 and if I didn’t, the bird was going to be shipped back to the seller and I would have to make arrangements with them.
