Rainer Collections called me stating they were trying to collect a debt. I hung up, and then called back. I do not carry debt, my credit score is great, and I pay all my bills on time. When I called them back they were friendly and stated they held a debt from a paramedic company I had used about 2 years ago. When I said I had never received a bill and no one had contacted me prior, they said they had called me once about 2 years ago! I probably should not have confirmed my address and last 4 of my social but I did. They said they could "do me a favor" by removing this debt from my credit report if I paid in full right then and there. I said I would do not such thing as I was sure this was a scam, that I would be looking into it on my end and then ended the call. I then verified on my FICO credit report that there was no such charge ever listed, and certainly nothing showing as past due or in collections. So -- yep, a total scam. Oh yes, they also sent me a "letter" purporting to represent the debt. See the attached image -- pitiful! And the email was from an individual at hotmail. Complete scam.
