I was contacted via email from someone calling themselves Cole Ikkala, who actually does work for the real company. They said that they wanted to conduct an interview and did so via instant message on an app called RingCentral. It was spotty and took 3 hours, but I got an offer letter sent to my email along with a direct deposit form. Thank God I had the good sense not to send anything back, because the next morning I got a check in the mail for $6,500 for “equipment”. They asked me to deposit the check and then transfer a portion of those funds over to bitcoin and into a crypto wallet. I started to get a weird feeling about it, so I contacted Radius HR themselves and they told me it was a scam. Very glad I caught it in time, but be careful - the whole thing looked completely legitimate.
