I received an email from [email protected] ( I looked up that organization and thought it was supporting furthing women’s education). They claimed to be working with Geovera and offered an email to contact for an interview: [email protected]. I was told the interview would be on the app “teams” the interviewer claimed to be Brian McHugh and wrote all his scholar credentials. I was approved and told to fill out paperwork and orientation would be on Monday. The email I received a W4 form and a confirmation of employment with the actual “Geovera Insurance” logo was [email protected]

(I looked her up and found she was associated with the actual company). I was told a paycheck would be sent to me to buy office supplies as an act of trust and I said can the company send the supplies instead and also can I have access to the company portal? There still hasn’t been a reply for almost a month. I sent my phone, email and address, and license unfortunately. I don’t believe they can do much with it but it’s upsetting they are contacting people for fake jobs trying to get money out of people. I applied to 20 different jobs on indeed that day and opted for employers to email me to make things easier. I have screenshots of all the emails and conversations as well.
